I submitted bloodwork earlier Saturday. The results came back the same day, but I waited until Sunday morning to open them.
Creatine kinase dropped from off-the-charts high—1123 U/L to 83 U/L. The normal range is range 46–171 U/L.
Overall, the bloodwork was good.
• CK normalized
• Kidney function stable
• No lingering muscle damage
Clear confirmation that I overdid it in the gym—and that stopping fixed it.
The correction worked.
What;s still concerning
CRP is 3.10 mg/dL, up from 2.50. Systemic inflammation is still very much present. At this point, it's likely chemotherapy plus liver stress, not muscle.
Liver enzymes remain elevated, with a mixed pattern:
• AST: 63 (down from 95 — improving)
• ALT: 165 (flat and high)
• GGT: 122 (high)
• ALP: 199 (high)
So while I fixed the CK problem, my oncologist may still decide to skip or delay chemo because of the liver numbers.
I'll return to weight training—but with lighter weights and slower progression. More walking than lifting. I need the social connection that comes from training with friends, and I need to preserve muscle. I don't always need to be in fifth gear.
Life is often better as a Sunday drive in third.
