Cycle 6 hasn't hit me as hard as the previous ones. Day 0 — infusion day — came with the usual heavy head. Days 1 and 2 have historically been rough. This time, less so.
One change I made: I stopped drinking 2–3 cups of coffee in the morning on infusion days. That may have helped. The sun being out is not a maybe — that's the difference.
It's been a long, rainy winter in Portugal. When you're groggy and the sky is gray, the couch wins. And laying around too much has its own consequences — sore neck, aching muscles, the body slowly seizing up in protest. Now that the weather has turned, I can't bring myself to waste a good day.
On Day 1, I went for a walk with Henning along the coast. We stopped at the marina for a tea. About 4k round trip. It felt good to be outside and moving.
Today Tina needed the car, so she dropped me at the train station in Cascais and I rode the line to Belém — where Champalimaud is located. After my appointment I walked along the Tejo river. Not far, but I ran out of energy faster than expected and needed food and water.
I stopped at the overpriced tourist Mexican food truck and ordered a burrito and água com gás. The burrito is definitely not on my nutrition protocol. I had some minor GI issues later that night.
Worth it.
After eating I walked a bit more, then found a bench in the park and listened to my audiobook while waiting for Tina and Soren to pick me up.
